Pre-Season - April 12, 1950

Spokane Welcomes New Pitchers
LEWISTON, April 12—The Spokane Indians, whose pitchers have been bothered by sore arms and lots of base hits, welcomed two new hurlers to spring training camp today.
They are Bob Roberts, a 20-year-old Spokane high school product, and Vern Kohout, a southpaw purchased from Wenatchee. Roberts, a righthander, is here on a look-see basis from Boise of the class C Pioneer league. He won two, lost seven with Boise last year.
Spokane meets Great Falls of the Pioneer loop Saturday and Sunday before breaking camp. The Tribe has beaten Great Falls three times after losing 16-0 to Washington State college, 12 to 1 to Northern Idaho college and 13 to 5 by the University of Idaho.

Felizzatto Hurls Braves To 15-9 Win
Marks Second Victory For Young Portsider
LINDSAY, Calif., April 12—Bob Felizzatto turned in his second straight pre-league victory for the Tri-City Braves baseball team here tonight as the Braves dumped Porterville 15-9.
The winning entry from the Western International league teed off on the offerings of the Porterville hurler by slashing in two runs in the first and third.
However, the losers started a rally in the fourth and at the end of the sixth the count was knotted 5-5.
But the big booming bats of Neil Bryant Clint Cameron, Nick Pesut and Jim McKeegan broke the Porterville back by hammering in 10 runs during the last three innings.
